Cincinnati Pops Orchestra - Tap Soloist

November was a very exciting month for me because new and unique opportunities kept coming my way. One of them being performing with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra as a tap soloist at the historic Cincinnati Music Hall. It was for their Postcards Across America concert which is a part of their Lollipops series, concerts geared more towards kids. They sent me a recording of the song, "The Charleston", about a month and a half before the big day. I spent that time choreographing and rehearsing on my tap board in my basement.

I had one rehearsal with the full orchestra on Friday evening. I walked in to the green room and was so excited to see I had my own personal dressing room with my name on the door and everything. That rehearsal went well so i came in the next morning to perform for the kids and they all seemed to love it! I was told the kids went home and would not stop talking about the tap dancer. Having over 2,000 people watching me in a beautiful and historic theater is something I will never forget. It was a very overwhelming feeling and I was so grateful throughout the entire experience.
