I worked as an amusement park singer and dancer at Coney Island Amusement Park last summer. It was an amazing experience where I was able to grow as a singer and learn about vocal health when performing in 5-7 shows a day.
One of my favorite stories from the summer is as follows. Summer camps would come and watch our afternoon shows everyday during the week. We called them Camp Coney. One day there was a little girl in the front row who was singing along passionately to Good Vibrations which I was the lead singer for. I saw the spark in her eye and I lowered down to my microphone so she could sing my solo. She was shy at first but soon got excited and sang loud for everyone. She didn't stop smiling for the rest of the show! Knowing I gave this girl a special memorable moment for the summer was just as magical a moment for me as it was for her!
